A tent collapsed at Bageshwar Dham in Madhya Pradesh's Chhattarpur district, killing one devotee and injuring eight others, according to local media reports.
The reports mentioned that the incident happened around 7 am on Thursday, after the morning aarti, when devotees took shelter from rain under the tent.
According to The Times of India, a heavy iron angle from the tent structure came loose and struck a man on the head, killing him on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Shyamlal Kaushal, a resident of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.
One of the family members who also sustained injuries in the mishap told police that six members of their family had arrived at Bageshwar Dham on Wednesday night to attend the birthday celebrations of the Dham’s Dhirendra Shastri, scheduled for Friday.
