Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles is all set to reintroduce the Tata Sierra in India with the SUV scheduled for launch on November 25. While the Sierra will make its global debut today, the company has already released multiple teasers that highlight the new model's design direction and cabin features. The final positioning is yet to be outlined, but the 2025 Sierra adopts a rugged, modern SUV profile aimed at reviving the nameplate for a wider audience.
Exterior design and styling
The front profile features a sculpted bonnet, sharp character lines and a blacked-out grille with the Tata logo and integrated Sierra nameplate. The LED lighting setup includes slim headlamps, a full-width LED light bar and LED fog lamps. These elements give the Tata Sierra 2025 a contemporary visual identity.
In profile view, the SUV appears large and upright. It gets dual-tone alloy wheels, a dual-tone exterior finish and contrasting colour treatment on the A, B, C and D pillars. This approach recreates the familiar wraparound-glass impression associated with the original Sierra, achieved through paint rather than actual glass. Roof rails, flush door handles, black ORVMs, a shark-fin antenna and pronounced wheel arches underline its SUV stance.
At the rear, the Tata Sierra carries a wide tailgate, connected LED tail-lamps and a prominent Sierra nameplate. The bumper design on both ends reinforces the model's rugged proportions.
Cabin layout and features
The teasers confirm that the Tata Sierra will use a triple-screen layout -- a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment screen and a co-driver display -- a first for a Tata model. The dashboard design is new, differing from the Safari, Harrier and Harrier.ev, though elements such as the HVAC controls, gear selector and steering wheel appear familiar.
The second row is shown with individual headrests, window shades and premium upholstery. Key features expected on the Tata Sierra include Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and connected-car technologies.
Powertrain options and capability
The Tata Sierra will be introduced under the brand's multi-powertrain strategy. It will be offered in both ICE and EV versions, with the ICE variant arriving first on November 25, followed by the Tata Sierra EV next year. Expected engine choices include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre Hyperion direct-injection turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired with manual and automatic transmission options.
Teaser visuals also indicate multiple terrain modes and likely drive modes, similar to the brand's larger SUVs.
Expected price and rivals
The Tata Sierra price is expected to fall between Rs 13.50 lakh and Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with models such as the Mahindra Thar Roxx and the MG Hector.
