Maruti Suzuki India today announced that the Fronx has become the fastest SUV from India to reach the export milestone of 1 lakh units, achieving the feat in just 25 months.
Launched in India in April 2023, the Fronx is exclusively manufactured at Maruti's Gujarat facility. Its exports started in the same year to markets such as Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said that the carmaker's renewed focus on international markets has been instrumental in its continued leadership in passenger vehicle (PV) exports.
"The Fronx is delighting customers all over the world. Besides clocking the fastest 1 lakh exports, the Fronx was also India's number 1 exported PV in FY25 at 69,000 units," he added.
Maruti has been the largest PV exporter from India for the past four years. With shipments of over 96,000 units in Q1 FY26, its share in PV exports stood at an all-time high of 47%.
In FY25, the company exported over 3.3 lakh units, its highest-ever for any fiscal. The exports grew 17.5% over the previous fiscal, with the Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Swift and Dzire being the top export models.
At present, Maruti exports 17 models to nearly 100 countries. Among the top export markets are South Africa, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
In the domestic market, the Fronx is priced between Rs 7.54 lakh and Rs 13.06 lakh (ex-showroom). It is among the largest-selling models in the sub-4 metre compact SUV segment, having posted sales of 1.66 lakh units in FY25.
