From the Harrier.ev to the XEV 9e and the Punch.ev, the electric vehicles (EVs) tested so far at the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP) have performed handsomely, with all of them scoring a 5-star safety rating.

As of now, seven EVs have been crash tested at Bharat NCAP, including the Tata Punch.ev, Tata Nexon.ev, Tata Curvv.ev, Tata Harrier.ev, Mahindra XUV400, Mahindra BE 6 and Mahindra XEV 9e.

Surprisingly, all seven models have scored a 5-star safety rating in both adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupant protection (COP) categories. What is even more surprising is the fact that all seven models are from Indian brands, Tata Motors and Mahindra, pointing towards the high safety standards achieved by them.

The cars are assessed at Bharat NCAP based on their crash-test performance across three sections -- AOP, COP and safety assist technologies.
