Inflation is major concern for emerging economies: FM

In a meeting addressed to discuss inflation issues, India Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that the fight against rising commodity prices would continue as the current decrease in the commodity prices is too small to be comfortable with.

In a meeting addressed to discuss inflation issues, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that the fight against rising commodity prices would continue as the current decrease in rates is too small to be comfortable with.


Aware of the fact that inflation has emerged as a key concern in the last few months for emerging economies,Mukherjee feels, there is an urgent need to monitor prices of essential commodities.

"Mounting prices of food and oil are exerting tremendous pressure on inflation," he added.
