CCI looks at Zee Turner-Star Den alliance: Sources

The mega Zee-Turner and Star-Den alliance has caught the attention of the Competition Commission of India. Sources tell CNBC-TV18, the CCI will examine the deal under Section 3 of the Competition Act which deals with anti-competitive agreements.

Sources tell CNBC-TV18, the CCI will examine the deal under Section 3 of the Competition Act which deals with anti-competitive agreements.

Meanwhile, it is also being learnt that Section 5 and 6 of the Competition Act, which was to come into effect from June 1 cannot be applied to this deal. The two sections deal with competition regulation.

The Competition Commission may even take suo moto cognisance of the deal if needed.
