amar. it is less about economy and more about brand perception. wanted to buy a flip flop. looked online for two days. couldnt buy bata because the name wont look good on my feet. settled for a puma. bata has been reduced to a poor mans shoe. no image buildover, no new brand launches, just carrying over the old legacy. the number of stores they have should be utilised to launch new brands and designs, to aquire a few good brands but they wont. Economy is not growing only handful stocks in nifty are lifting nifty up majority of Market is in downtrend.This can also be judged from if a person cannot afford to buy a pair of shoes then where is growth in the economy.Sales of bata is stagnant since 3 years. View more
