Google has joined Samsung and Microsoft in mocking Apple’s recently announced iOS 26 update. In a new ad, Google takes direct aim at three headline features of iOS 26, suggesting that Apple is only now catching up to functionality that Android devices have had for years. This latest dig follows similar responses from Samsung and Microsoft after Apple showcased its new “Liquid Glass” design and AI features at WWDC 2025.

In Google’s latest commercial, a conversation unfolds between a fictionalised Pixel 9 Pro and an iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone brags about new features such as live translation in Messages, Hold Assist, and call screening. Each time, the Pixel counters by saying it had those capabilities “four,” “five,” or even “seven years ago.” The ad concludes with the iPhone inquiring about Pixel’s plans, subtly highlighting how Android has traditionally led in these areas.
