The Vivo V70, which is expected to be the successor to the company's Vivo V60 handset, appears closer to a launch soon, as the purported handset has now been listed on multiple certification websites. Now, a new report has revealed that this upcoming smartphone has also received approval from a telecom regulator in Singapore, hinting at its imminent launch. However, the company is yet to officially announce anything regarding this.
Vivo V70 tipped to launch soon: Key details
According to a new report by the Tech Outlook, a Vivo smartphone with model number V2538 has been approved by Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), which is expected to be the upcoming Vivo V70. The handset has been listed on the website with 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth connectivity options, indicating that it will provide comprehensive wireless connectivity options.
Previously, the Vivo V70 was also listed on the US FCC database, with similar connectivity options. The phone is also expected to run on Android 16-based OriginOS 6. It is said to be in at least a 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage configuration, though these details are yet to be confirmed. Performance-wise, the Vivo V70 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which is the same chipset that came with the Vivo V60.
The Vivo V70 has also been spotted on Geekbench in the past with a score of 1,235 points in single-core performance and 3,920 points in multi-core performance. Additionally, according to X tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Vivo V70 may have a starting price of less than Rs 70,000 in India. The device is also expected to pack a large 6,500mAh or 7,000mAh battery pack with support for 100W charging. Like recently launched Vivo smartphones, it could run Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box.
