Google CEO Sundar Pichai has responded to Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo’s recent tweet criticizing Google Meet’s audio performance—especially when it comes to background noise cancellation and echo.

D’Angelo shared that Quora had recently tested using Google Meet instead of Zoom for a week. While he acknowledged that Google Meet was “better in many small ways,” he pointed out one major drawback: poor audio quality. Specifically, he mentioned issues with background noise and echoing—something that made them decide to stick with Zoom.

In response, Pichai tweeted back, saying, “Hey Adam, will follow up offline as haven’t experienced this... we will debug to understand the root cause and fix. Thanks for flagging.”

Pichai also noted that, in his experience, Google Meet generally works well, and that others—like a user named Reed mentioned in the thread—have had similar positive experiences. Still, he assured D’Angelo that Google will look into the issue.
