Sennheiser has introduced the MKH 8018, a compact stereo shotgun microphone designed for broadcasting and filming applications. The new model expands the MKH 8000 range of RF condenser microphones, known for their ruggedness and detailed sound capture.
Features
The MKH 8018 includes three stereo recording modes: MS stereo, wide XY, and narrow XY. The MS mode allows post-processing control, while the XY options offer premixed outputs. The microphone uses Sennheiser’s RF condenser technology, offering low self-noise and high off-axis rejection.
It is housed in lightweight aluminium and features an integrated -10 dB pad, a switchable low-cut filter at 70 Hz, and a tailored frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz. A built-in matrix enables the mic to switch between stereo formats without external equipment.
The MKH 8018 comes with an MZQ 100 clip, MZW 8018 foam windshield, and a transport tube. The MZR 8000 adapter enables mounting with broader mic clips or cameras. Optional accessories include a suspension grip, basket windshield, and outdoor hairy cover.
