Passport Seva services across India appear to be affected due to technical issues, leaving thousands of applicants unable to process their appointments, reschedule them or make a new one.
The disruption has impacted operations at Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and Post Office PSKs (POPSKs) across major cities.
Moneycontrol reached out to the Passport Seva customer support, and as per the conversation, the issue was acknowledged but not resolved as of Friday. Customer representatives confirmed that server outages were leading to automatic appointment cancellations and advised users to try again later.

Numerous users also took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their frustration. In Ghaziabad, applicants found the PSK locked with a physical notice pasted at the gate, stating that services were suspended due to technical issues. No prior SMS, call, or email was sent to inform applicants about the disruption.
The server issues have rendered the Passport Seva Portal non-functional, preventing users from booking new appointments or accessing existing ones. Several applicants received last-minute cancellation messages citing “technical issues.” One such message read: “Dear Applicant, your appointment for PSK/POPSK has been suspended due to a Technical issue. Request you to reschedule the appointment as per your convenience.”
