OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has just sent out an open invitation on social media and it’s creating quite a buzz. In a post on X, Altman announced that OpenAI is hiring, especially for people passionate about infrastructure and large-scale computing systems.
“The scale of what’s happening at OpenAI right now is insane,” Altman wrote, adding that the company is dealing with tough and exciting challenges. He urged people to “please consider joining us! We could desperately use your help.”

This announcement comes just two weeks after OpenAI raised a massive $40 billion funding round, led by SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son and other investors. The funds will help OpenAI build powerful new AI tools and move closer to achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) — AI that can perform any task a human can.

Adding to the excitement, Altman recently stood alongside Son, Oracle’s Larry Ellison, and former US President Donald Trump to announce The Stargate Project — a huge system of data centres that will power OpenAI’s AI projects across the US. This mega project is now going head-to-head with Elon Musk’s Colossus Project, a similar AI infrastructure plan by his startup xAI, aiming to build the world’s largest supercomputer facility in Memphis, Tennessee.
