Meta, Google, Airtel join Safer Internet India coalition to combat cyber threats and online fraud

Th new policy advocacy group which will work on tackling cyber threats and responsible AI, will work with Koan Advisory as its secretariat.

Major global Big Tech companies and telecom companies including Google, Meta, Microsoft and Airtel have joined New Delhi-based Safer Internet India (SII), a new policy advocacy group working in combating cyber threats and promoting user safety, the group announced on February 12.

Other members include Vodafone Idea, Truecaller, Boom, Dream Sports, Fortinet, Zupee, Newschecker and Shiprocket.

In a statement, SII said that the coalition aims to address challenges such as frauds and scams that have increased with the growth in digital adoption in India. They will work on information sharing, awareness campaigns, and disseminating best practices.

Public policy firm Koan Advisory Group will serve as a secretariat for the coalition. SII declined to comment when asked about its organisation structure.
