Apple’s first-ever foldable iPhone is already making noise months before its rumoured launch. According to fresh reports, the iPhone Fold might come with a slightly more affordable price tag than many expected, especially when compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.

A recent UBS report, shared by Fortune, suggests Apple could price the iPhone Fold between $1,800 and $2,000. That’s cheaper than the predicted $2,400 mark and lower than Samsung’s latest foldable flagship. However, it would still be more expensive than the Vivo X Fold 5, which starts at a lower price point in the foldable market.

Why the drop in price? UBS analysts believe Apple’s cost-cutting on certain components like memory, processors, and cameras could make the phone cheaper to build. This, despite Apple using high-end materials for the casing and hinge. For Apple fans, this means you might not have to break the bank as much as expected to get your hands on the company’s first foldable iPhone.

Besides the price, there’s also chatter about the design. Rumors point to the iPhone Fold being Apple’s slimmest product yet. Popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and leaker Instant Digital both suggest it could be just 4.8mm thick when unfolded. That’s even thinner than the current thinnest Apple device—the iPad Pro M4, which is 5.1mm.
