Google is rolling out some new updates for Gemini which will make drafting emails, using chat commands, and generating AI images easier. If you use Gmail, Google Chat, or AI tools in Docs and Slides, these updates might just save you some time. Here are all the updates Google has announced.
AI-powered replies in Gmail
Ever wished your email could just write itself? Well, Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, is getting pretty close. It could already answer questions about your inbox and find specific emails, but now it can actually insert responses directly into your email drafts.
All you have to do is open Gemini in the Gmail app, ask it a question, and hit the insert button. No more copy-pasting. This feature is available for Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users.
Faster commands in Google Chat
If you use Google Chat, here’s something that’ll make life easier. Instead of typing out slash (/) commands to interact with apps, you can now just pick a quick command from a menu. Simple, right?
Developers can set up these quick commands, and users can access them by clicking the plus button next to the message box. The rollout is happening now and should be complete by March 3, 2025. The best part? It’s available to all Google Workspace customers and even personal Google account users.
Better AI-generated images in Workspace
Google’s AI image generator just got an upgrade with Imagen 3. This means you can get better details, better textures and you can also generate images of people.
This feature is already live for Gemini Advanced users, and by March 1, 2025, it’ll be available in the Gemini app too. Anyone with access to Gemini in Workspace can try it out.
