Elon Musk has said that coding as a profession could largely end by the end of 2026, as artificial intelligence systems become capable of generating machine-level code without human-written programming languages.

Speaking in a video clip that is now circulating online, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO said that by the end of this year, people may not need to “bother doing coding” because AI systems would be able to create binary code directly.
