Servers operated by Electronic Arts experienced a major disruption on February 19, preventing players across multiple regions from accessing popular online games and services. Users reported difficulties logging into accounts, joining matches, and maintaining stable connections during gameplay.
The outage affected several high-traffic titles, with complaints rapidly increasing on social media platforms as frustrated players attempted to understand the cause behind the sudden service breakdown.
Key problems faced by users
According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, the majority of complaints were linked to server connectivity failures. Around 54 percent of users flagged issues related to server connections, making it the most widespread problem during the outage.
Gameplay disruptions followed, accounting for nearly 18 percent of reports, with players being disconnected mid-match or unable to access online features. Login-related problems made up roughly 16 percent of complaints, as users struggled to sign into EA accounts or authenticate game services.
Many players noted that EA FC Ultimate Team was among the most impacted modes, with objectives, matchmaking, and squad access becoming unavailable for extended periods.

As the outage continued, gamers took to social platforms to express frustration over repeated service failures. Several users criticised the company for recurring server instability, particularly during peak gaming hours when traffic is highest.
Posts highlighted lost progress, forced match losses due to disconnections, and inability to complete time-sensitive in-game challenges. Some players also questioned why large gaming publishers continue to face frequent infrastructure breakdowns despite increasing online player numbers.
