Desperate gamers queue up outside shops since midnight to get their hands on the Nintendo Switch 2

It’s a big day for gamers around the world, Nintendo Switch 2 is finally here! The much-anticipated console officially launched today, June 5, and fans didn’t waste a second. Long lines formed outside stores like Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target, with eager buyers camping out since midnight just to be among the first to grab the new device.

For those who missed the pre-order window, there’s still hope. Several major retailers held midnight launches and had limited stock available for walk-in customers. So, if you didn’t pre-order, showing up early at a store might still land you a console.

Online restocks have also started rolling out. Walmart, GameStop, and Sam’s Club refreshed their inventories in the early hours of launch day. Target is expected to go live with online sales on June 6, and more restocks are planned over the coming weeks.

In the U.K., pre-orders were generally easier to secure, but as of now, most stores have run out of stock.
