In response to the European Union regulation mandating the inclusion of a USB-C port on all smartphones sold within the region, Apple has discontinued the sale of the iPhone 14 and iPhone SE in the region.
Earlier, Apple had removed these models from its online store in some countries. Apple has now stopped selling the iPhone 14 and SE in the majority of EU member states.
The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and the third-generation iPhone SE are no longer available for purchase in Apple’s online store in most European Union countries. Local legislation mandated that companies had until December 28, 2023, to update their products with a USB-C port or face restrictions on their sale within the EU.
Countries where iPhone 14, SE are not available
These devices are no longer available in countries such as Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal. However, they remain accessible in the United Kingdom, as the country is not a part of the European Union.
For customers residing within the European Union, this means they can’t get their hands on the most affordable iPhone models, at least for the present time. The iPhone 14, unveiled in September 2022, retains the iPhone 13 design while incorporating minor hardware enhancements, including Emergency SOS via satellite.
In contrast, the iPhone SE 3, launched in March 2022, retains the design of the iPhone 8, featuring a Home button.
However, rumor has it that Apple is set to launch a new iPhone SE sometime in March. The expected iPhone SE will feature a Type-C port and is rumoured to get an all-new design.
