Apple has officially confirmed the rollout date of the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS. The new software updates — iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11 — will be rolled out on September 16. Notably, Apple Intelligence features for all platforms are not expected to be a part of the first update.
Apple, on its website, revealed that Apple Intelligence beta features will be rolled out in beta “later this fall”, with no exact date mentioned.
macOS Sequoia: Key features
On September 16, macOS Sequoia will bring several standout features. One of the most-anticipated feature is iPhone Mirroring , which allows users to control their iPhone directly from their Mac, enhancing cross-device functionality. Apple is also bringing the new Passwords app to Mac and will keep all passwords and passkeys in one secure location.
Also new is Window Tiling, which simplifies multitasking by allowing users to arrange windows side-by-side.
iPadOS 18: What’s new
The Calculator app finally makes its way to the iPad with iPadOS 18. There’s also Math Notes which allows users to solve mathematical expressions and plot graphs directly on their iPad. Similarly, Smart Script in Notes enhances handwriting recognition and live audio transcription. Like the iPhone, the Photos app on the iPad is also getting a major overhaul.
New features for Apple Watch
watchOS 11 brings the Vitals app, which provides a snapshot of health metrics, notifying users of significant changes. Apple is also making Smart Stack better with iOS 11. It will add relevant widgets based on context. Cycle tracking app is also getting new features. There’s improved pregnancy tracking in the app which shows shows gestational age and logs symptoms. The redesigned Photos watch face in watchOS 11 uses machine learning to display the best compositions from the user’s photo library.
