Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium has hosted the maximum number of IPL matches – 109 and counting. The stadium will host the Mumbai Indians versus Rajasthan Royals match on Monday. The night match will begin at 7:30 PM local time.

Mumbai Indians are hoping that they will end up victorious in this tie. Despite changing their captain, the Indians have continued their reputation of slow starters as they have lost both their matches so far.

Wankhede may offer a change in fortunes for the home side as the ground traditionally supports batting. The average score batting first here is 169 while the average runs per wicket stands at 27.21. The ground offers 8 and a half as the average runs per over. With such good batting conditions, Mumbai would hope that their batters like Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Tim David and Hardik Pandya himself come good. Rajasthan Royals too won’t mind the score as their batters like Jaiswal, Samson and Parag too are in good form.

The ground also holds a good record for teams chasing the target. Of the 109 matches played so far, 50 have been won batting first while 59 matches have been won by teams that have batted second. This means the success rate of batting first is nearly 46 percent while the team batting second enjoys a 54 percent success rate.
