IPL progidy Vaibhav Suryavanshi breaks huge record in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to shatter age-related records, already holding the distinction of being the youngest player to feature in a Ranji Trophy match and to represent India U19.

13-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has got another record to his name as he became the youngest cricketer to play a List A game, breaking a record which stood for almost 25 years. Vaibhav broke the record after making is debut for Bihar in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Madhya Pradesh on Saturday (December 21). Earlier, Suryavanshi became the youngest player ever to get sold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in November. He bagged a massive contract worth Rs 1.1 crore from the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

At the age of 13 years, Vaibhav broke the record set by Ali Akbar (1999/00 season), the latter played at the age of 14 years for Vidarbha. Suryavanshi is also the youngest to play a Ranji game and represt India Under-19 prior to this remarkable feat.

How did his debut go?

Suryavanshi's debut proved to be short-lived as he was dismissed after scoring just 4 runs off two balls. While he hit a boundary on the first delivery, Aryan Anand Pandey sent him back to the pavilion on the very next ball.
