Additionally, snowfall has been reported in the higher reaches of Garhwal, with significant rainfall in both Kumaon and Garhwal regions. Pilgrims traveling to Kedarnath are stranded as the Sonprayag-Gaurikund road is closed. Hotels in Gaurikund are offering accommodation at a reduced rate for stranded pilgrims.
The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority has instructed all district magistrates to take comprehensive precautions. The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in various districts, potentially leading to waterlogging and landslides.
