But Abby doesn't seem to excite the marketing community at all. And that is strange, because the marketer is a critical component of the ecosystem.  This was a critical year for the festival because it came in the wake of the Ford JWT scam. This resulted in Creativeland Asia withdrawing completely from the festival. Before this, Ogilvy had said that they did not want to participate in the Abby Awards, because they no longer motivated them. So, was it genuinely the best of Indian advertising that was on display here, or were there some borderline scams that perhaps went undetected? CNBC-TV18’s Pavni Mittal reports.
