A man from Bihar has taken the internet by storm after revealing that he has rented a single room with an attached bathroom in West Bengal for only Rs 15 per month. Sharing pictures and videos of his room on X, Manish Aman revealed that he was a final-year MBBS student at AIIMS in Kalyani and the room was the accommodation allotted by the college.

The revelation, however, did not stop several X users from being surprised at the subsidised rates. While some of them continued to express disbelief, one pointed out that in Mumbai one can get only street food for Rs 15 while another jokingly suggested he sublet it for Rs 15,000.

"In Gurgaon or Mumbai, you won't get a room like this for less than Rs 12,000," commented Samvardhan (@samvardhansingh) while Arpit Singh (@digiarpit) added: "For Rs 15 you get cream pav in Mumbai."

Then there were users like Swati Dixit (@vibewidyou) who misread Rs 15 as Rs 15,000.

"Rs 15k for this small area is too much," she wrote on X. "Rs 15 not 15k," corrected Aman to which she replied: "Oh god! Inflation is such that I read the post four times and every time I read it as Rs 15,000. I used to pay Rs 250 for my hostel fees, but that was also two years ago, and you are paying only Rs 15."
