A “mentally disabled” passenger allegedly “misbehaved” with the crew and “locked himself” in a bathroom onboard an IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Patna. A complaint was filed against him by the crew and he was detained, officials said.
The incident took place aboard IndiGo flight 6E 126, according to ANI.
The accused was detained by the police on Patna airport, the officials further said.
“He misbehaved on the flight and also locked himself inside the toilet onboard,” the crew mentioned in their complaint.
Vinod Peter, station house officer from the airport’s police station said that the passenger identified as Kamar Riyaz is “mentally disabled” and is undergoing treatment.
“The passenger, Kamar Riyaz, is mentally disabled and is under treatment. He was carrying medical reports. He was travelling with one of his relatives from Hyderabad to Patna,” Peter told ANI.
“On a complaint filed by IndiGo staff, we detained him,” he added.
Now, an investigation into the incident is underway.
Meanwhile, an IndiGo passenger was arrested after he tried to open the emergency exit of a Guwahati to Agartala flight mid-air, India Today reported.
The passenger was identified as Biswajit Debnath, 41. He was under the influence of narcotic tablets and was arrested when the flight landed in Agartala. A video of the same also surfaced online.
