Comedian Chris Rock's full-force rebuttal against the Oscars 2022 slap has left Will Smith "embarrassed and hurt", according to an Entertainment Tonight report published after the former's Netflix stand-up special Selective Outrage.
Rock took the stage last week to address the infamous headline-making slap he received from Smith for distasteful jokes about his wife, actor Jada Pinkett-Smith, at the awards ceremony.
He did not hold back as he hit Smith back with his punchlines, a year after the actor dashed to the Oscars stage to smack Rock in the face in front of global audiences.
“People always say words hurt … anybody who says words hurt has never been punched in the face," Rock said, before moving on take potshots at the Smiths, especially for Pinkett-Smith's infidelity.
He also joked about watching Smith's latest movie Emancipation (in which he plays) for the satisfaction of seeing him get beaten.

Smith hasn't watched Rock's show but is upset about Netflix giving him a platform, a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“Will is embarrassed and hurt by what Chris said about him and his family in his Netflix special," they said. "He didn’t watch it, but he had people tell him what Chris said. It’s everywhere when you look online and on social media, so Will and Jada have seen comments about it."
Rock's stand-up special, Selective Outrage, is part of a $40-million deal he signed with Netflix in 2016.

He had alluded to the slap during previous appearances too, but Selective Outrage marked the first time he unleashed his full fury on Smith.
The slap has come into focus with Oscars 2023 just days away. Determined to take no chances, the Academy has assembled a crisis team this year to handle unforeseen developments.
Smith won't be attending this year's ceremony since he is under a 10-year ban from the Academy. After the slap, he had also stepped down as the film academy's member.
