Radhika Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of Edelweiss MF, took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise a domestic coffee brand, Third Wave Coffee Roasters. She shared the post on Wednesday and talked about how a local brand is serving a much better coffee product than international chains. Her post has gone viral online.
Gupta shared a picture of an outlet of Third Wave Coffee Roasters praised the brand for selling premium products locally. “A local brand serving a much better coffee product than many international chains. One more example of both the increasing demand for premium products and the ability to locally meet it,” she wrote in the post.
Needless to say, Gupta’s post grabbed a lot of attention and several reactions from social media users. A majority of people agreed with her and lauded the coffee brand.
“I really enjoy having coffee at Third wave and Subko. They serve far better coffee than the “international chain” you’re referring to, and are about 30% cheaper. What’s not to like?” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “Couldn't agree more! I recently tried their coffee and it blew me away. It's amazing to see local brands stepping up and delivering top-notch quality. It's a testament to the growing appreciation for premium products right in our own backyard.”
“It’s food is super too. And yes, excellent coffee,” a third user remarked.
A fourth user wrote, “So true. Big fan of coffee as well as snacks at @thirdwaveindia.”
There were a few people who disagreed with Gupta as well. “All for local brands and all, but their coffee is quite average in my honest opinion. Food is below average Udupi hotels have better coffee!” a person exclaimed.
Another person commented, “No. They got to improve a lot. As a brand they have grown but definitely not with quality of coffee.”
Third Wave Coffee Roasters was founded by Sushant Goel, Ayush Bathwal and Anirudh Sharma in 2016. The brand has multiple outlets in cities such as Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad and Noida, among others.
