Sources also say that the government believes that the veterans must not politicise the issue. The government has started examining issues related to the induction of retired army jawans into other forces including the police, paramilitary, border security force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

A mega rally is being organised on September 12 at Jantar Mantar in support of the implementation of One Rank One Pension scheme. The rally is also organised to seek clarification from the government over the modalities of the OROP scheme announced by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
