In order to push for power reforms, power minister Veerappa Moily held a meeting with state electricity regulatory authorities on Wednesday.
Taking into account the current power situation, a discussion on proposed amendment in electricity act 2003 was taken up with Moily stating that a task force will look into the proposed amendments.Moily said the task force will be headed by CEA chairman and will submit a report within two months.
The amendment proposes to give state regulators more teeth and Moily hopes to bring the amendments to parliament in the winter session.
