Every year, New Year's Eve gives an opportunity for friends and family to come together and celebrate the end of a long 12 months and wait for the clock to strike midnight to mark the start of a new year.
However, not everyone is fortunate to be among loved ones to celebrate on December 31 as was evident from a recent incident when a customer texted a Blinkit executive, asking if the delivery agent could stay back after delivering the customer's order as the person wanted company on New Year's Eve.
"Hi my name is Akash. How can I help you today?" the executive wrote to the customer.
"I ordered chips and drinks for my new years party from your app but something is missing from my order," the customer replied.
"Can you please tell me what is missing from your order?" Akash replied to the customer.
"Friends to party with. Can the delivery rider stay back?" he asked.
The post saw several retweets and comments from users and also found a reaction from CEO Albinder Dhindsa.
"This is more sad than funny. There are people actually like him(aka Me) who have bought things to party but no one to party with," one user wrote.
"This is actually sad and depressing," another user wrote.
"This is not for to make fun," a third user wrote.
