In talks with fintechs, retail firms to integrate Bhashini platform: Amitabh Nag

Since its inception in 2022, Bhashini has been collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders. This includes engagement with the government, academia, research groups, startups, banks, industry players, and data collection companies.

Fintech and e-commerce firms are actively working with government’s National Language Translation Project, Bhashini, to offer their platform services in multiple languages, both text and voice.

This could include accessing app content, giving voice commands for payments or filing forms, grievances redressal chats and so on—all in native languages.

“Thera are private organisations which are talking to us. Many of these are working with purpose-driven data collected from their system. These companies, especially financial, will help us test our systems better,” said Amitabh Nag, chief executive officer, Bhashini.

The open-source AI platform is a part of the Digital India's National Language Translation Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
