One of the major gripes many users have with the Android ecosystem is the inability to download multiple apps simultaneously. However, Google has now rolled out a new feature that lets you download two apps at once, eliminating the need to wait for each download one by one.

As reported by 9to5Google, Android users can now download two apps simultaneously on the Google Play Store. Moneycontrol also tested this feature on Vivo V29 Pro and Motorola Edge 40 smartphones and can verify, that the feature is available and working fine. However, downloading more than two apps at once still puts other downloads in a pending state.

Do keep in mind that currently, this feature is only available for new downloads. When updating an existing app, Play Store still follows the queue system and downloads each update one by one.

Apple’s App Store can download three apps simultaneously. So, it remains unclear why Google decided to keep the limit at two apps. However, 9to5Google has also reported that Google might allow for more than two downloads in the future.
