Bengaluru water crisis: Install aerators in taps or face 50% supply cut and fine, water board tells bulk users

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board issued an advisory urging the use of flow restrictor/aerator for bulk users such as malls, commercial complexes, apartments, government buildings, luxury hotels, restaurants, and public places, including religious places.

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, on March 21, stated that failure to install flow restrictor/aerator by bulk users by March 31 would result in a 50 percent water cut and a fine of Rs 5000.

"The amount of water supplied will be reduced by 50%, and a fine of Rs 5000 will be imposed as per Section 109 of the Water Board Act 1964," it stated.

BWSSB had issued an advisory urging the use of flow restrictor/aerator for bulk users such as malls, commercial complexes, apartments, government buildings, luxury hotels, restaurants, and public areas, including religious places.
