Bengaluru known as the startup capital is now emerging as a big source market in the travel segment.

South India is the largest contributor to the holidays business of one of the top online travel aggregators (OTA) Thomas Cook and within that Bengaluru has emerged as the company’s number one source market for the leisure segment.

The contribution for the holidays business from West and North India is in the range of 20-25 percent while the regions in the East have a 8-9 percent share.

Bengaluru as a source market has recorded 60 percent increase in travel demand versus 2019 levels. Spend appetite has increased 25-30 percent versus pre-Covid level. The length of stay for travellers from the city have increased from three nights to seven nights.
