The first Apple event of 2022 has just concluded, with the company unveiling a host of new products. Apple announced two new green versions of the iPhone 13 (Green) and iPhone 13 Pro (Alpine Green). Apple also revealed a new iPhone SE model powered by the A15 Bionic chip we see on the iPhone 13 series. The iPhone SE (2022) features a starting price of Rs 43,900 in India. The iPad Air (2022) is the latest iPad to join the ranks and now uses the new M1 chip. It features a starting price of Rs 54,900 in India.
Apart from the new iPad and iPhone, Apple also announced a new M1 chip in the form of the M1 Ultra. The M1 Ultra is Apple’s most powerful desktop chip yet, with Apple making tall claims of the chip’s CPU and GPU performance. Apple also announced a new powerful and portable Mac Studio desktop powered by the M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips. Lastly, the company also launched a new 5K Studio Display with an A13 Bionic chip.

Apple’s new Studio Display starts at $1,599, while the Mac Studio desktop starts from $1,999 for the M1 Max model and $3,999 for the M1 Ultra model.

Apple’s new Studio Display comes with three integrated USB-C ports and a Thunderbolt port as well as 96 W charging.
The new display also incorporates an A13 Bionic chip to provide rich integration and features, including powering the speaker system and a 12 MP Center Stage-enabled webcam. It also sports a three-microphone array and a six-speaker array with support to output a Dolby Atmos soundstage.
The 27-inch 5K Retina display features 600 nits of brightness and 218 ppi pixel density. It also comes with TrueTone and antireflective coating. There’s a nano-texture glass option, similar to the Pro Display XDR.

Apple says that the Mac Studio will be able to support 18 streams of 8K ProRes 422 video.
Apple says that the M1 Max and M1 Ultra version of the Mac Studio will be significantly faster than the Mac Pro and iMac with the Intel Xeon and Intel Core i9 CPUs.
The new Mac Studio desktop features four Thunderbolt ports on the back, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port, an audio jack, and a 10GB Ethernet port. The Mac Studio with the M1 Max has two USB Type-C ports on the front, while the M1 Ultra version has two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the front. Both units have an SD card slot on the front as well.
The Mac Studio features both Apple’s M1 Max and the more powerful the M1 Ultra chips. According to Apple, the new Mac Studio will be faster than its top-of-the-line Mac Pro.
The new M1 Ultra chip are touted to be the most powerful for desktop. However, this chip might be the most powerful at select tasks, can’t imagine they will be the best for gaming.
The M1 Ultra features 20 cores, including 16 high-performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The M1 Ultra also has a 64-core GPU unit that is 8x faster than the M1.
Connects over 10,000 signals and 2.5tb/s bandwidth between the dies. Additionally, memory bandwidth is increased to 800GB/s, which is 8x faster than a desktop PC.
The M1 Max was more capable than Apple previously shared. The new M1 Ultra uses UltraFusion technology that lets two M1 Max chip dies act like a single chip to the software. Apple calls this “Ultra Fusion”.

The iPad Air 2022 model will feature a starting price of $599 and will be available for purchase from March 18.

Apple’s custom M1 chip is coming to the iPad Air in 2022. Apple says that it is “"faster than the fastest competitive tablet, 2x faster than Windows laptop in its price range.” There are no specifics, but you can expect it to be very fast, to say the least!

The new iPhone SE will feature a starting price of $429, a $30 price increase from its predecessor. The iPhone SE 2022 will go on sale on March 18 in the US.
The iPhone SE will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models starting at Rs 43900.
Customers in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, the UK, the US, and more than 30 other countries and regions will be able to pre-order iPhone SE beginning at 5 a.m. PST on Friday, March 11, with availability beginning Friday, March 18.

The flagship A15 Bionic might just be the best part of the iPhone SE 2022 as it still retains those thick bezels and the single rear camera.

What else is Apple planning on launching at tonight’s event?
Apple is also rumoured to launch a new Studio Display. The alleged display will look similar to the Pro Display XDR with a 27-inch mini-LED panel, slim bezels and a slim footprint. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman backed the claim and said that the new monitor “running iOS” is ready to launch at the Apple event. This also means that the monitor will have an A-series chip.
What is the new Mac Studio?
A new Mac Studio could also debut at the Apple event on March 8. It will likely be taller than the Mac mini but shorter than the Mac Pro. The desktop is said to get the same square-shaped design with more USB Type-C ports than the two found on the Mac mini. The new Mac Studio models could be powered by the custom M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max chips come with a 10-core CPU that has eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores. The M1 Pro chip has a 16-core GPU, whereas the M1 Max has a 32-core GPU. In terms of RAM, the M1 Pro chip supports 32GB of RAM, whereas the M1 Max supports 64GB of RAM.
What iPad announcements can we expect today?
Apple is also rumoured to launch new iPad Air with the same design as the iPad Air 2020. The new additions will likely include an A15 Bionic or M1 chip. It will also get features like Centre Stage for FaceTime, which is found on the iPad Pro M1. The new iPad Air will feature the same design and come with a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina Display.
At the back, the 2022 iPad Air will feature a 12MP rear camera setup found on the iPad Pro models that support 4K video capture. Other iPad Air 2022 features rumoured so far include stereo speakers in landscape mode, USB Type-C port for up to 5Gbps data transfer, Wi-Fi 6, etc. It will also come in a new purple colour option.

Are we going to see iPhones at tonight’s Apple event?
Yes, we are set to see a new iPhone SE model at tonight’s event. It will be the first iPhone SE model to support 5G connectivity and will likely be powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chip. The iPhone SE 3 or 2022 will sport a 4.7-inch LCD with thick bezels at the top and bottom. On the back, the iPhone SE 5G camera housing will include a 12MP camera with TrueTone flash.
Apple might launch the iPhone SE 5G with a 12MP front camera as well. It is said to launch in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. Apple will launch the iPhone SE 2022 in red, white and black colours. The company is also expected to reveal a new colour optionfor the iPhone 13.
Apple currently offers the iPhone 13 in as many as five colours. In India, customers get to choose between Starlight, Midnight, Blue, Pink and Product Red. The new iPhone 13 colour option will have a dark green shade, which is somewhere between the Mint iPhone 12 and Midnight Green iPhone 11 Pro.
In preparation for the launch event, Apple's online store recently went down. The Apple Store going down hours ahead of a major product launch is customary and simply means Apple is set to add new products to its store.
