India's Doodle4Google contest has a winner

The votes have been cast and a winner has been selected. The third Doodle4Google contest has a winner and she's from Noida. The competition received over 1,55,000 entries from across the country. From 44 semi-finalists, 7-year old Varsha Gupta was selected. The topic this year was "India's gift to the world" and Varsha's doodle, titled “Indian Musical Instruments” will appear on the Google India homepage all day on 14th November 2011. She was presented with a certificate, along with a technology starter package including a laptop, a year’s Internet connection and a Rs. 2,00,000 technology grant for her school.
