Twitter permanently suspends Donald Trump’s account: A timeline of the spat
On January 8, Twitter permanently blocked US President Donald Trump from accessing his personal account, citing “the risk of further incitement of violence” following the deadly insurrection of the US Capitol on January 6. The social media giant has exempted many world leaders from its rules against personal attacks, hate speech and other behaviours. But after Trump’s recent tweet led to violence, his twitter account was banned.
