A judicial commission probing the alleged MUDA scam has cleared Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family of any wrongdoing.

State minister H K Patil said on Thursday that P N Desai, who headed the commission, gave a clean chit to the CM and his family in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case.

“P.N. Desai (chairman of the judicial commission) has given a clean chit to the CM and his family in the MUDA case,” Patil told reporters, adding that the panel has instead recommended action against officials involved. He said the cabinet has agreed in principle, and the matter will be taken up in the next meeting.

The case stems from the allotment of 14 residential plots in Mysuru’s Vijayanagara area to Siddaramaiah’s wife, BM Parvathi, in 2021. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is separately investigating allegations that MUDA acquired 3.16 acres of her land in Kesare village and later compensated her with 14 prime sites.
