The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has declared the Class 10 board exam 2020 results on June 9. Students who appeared in the Himachal Pradesh Board class 10 examination can check the result on its official website hpbose.org. Students should note that due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, the HPBOSE class 10 Result 2020 will only be released online. To prevent the gathering of students on campus, all schools have been advised against the display of HPBOSE 10th Result 2020 on notice boards. The HPBOSE reportedly started its evaluation process in the month of May, and as per media reports, the evaluation process was completed on May 30, 2020. This year, the evaluation process was done from home. Earlier media reports said that the results will be out on June 5, however, the board officials confirmed that the process will take few more days.
In 2019, HPBOSE announced class 10 results on April 29, 2019, and the pass percentage was 61.2 percent. Catch the highlights here:
For students unhappy with their test results, applications can be made for re-evaluation and re-checking. The dates for the applications will be announced by the board and the fees for re-evaluation is Rs 400 and for re-checking of test papers is Rs 300.

While 27197 students have failed the exams, 5617 students will have to appear for compartment exams. The compartment exams will have to be applied for at the respective schools.

Just like last year the girls in Himachal Pradesh have outsmarted the boys again. A total of 71.5 percent of girls have passed this year while 64.9 percent of the boys who appeared passed the exams. These numbers too an improvement over last year’s 64.33 percent and 57.48 percent.

The first ranker, Tanu Kumar received 98.71 percent marks. Second rank goes to Kshitiz Sharma of New Gurukul Public School with 98.56 percent marks while the third rank with 98.43% goes to three toppers: Vansh Gupta, Shagun Rana and Anisha Sharma.

Out of the 1,04,323 students that appeared for the Matric exam this year, 68.11 percent of the students (70,571 students) have passed. Last year the pass percentage stood at 60.79 percent.

This year’s top students account for a total of 23 girls and 14 boys making it to the top-10 merit list in the HPBOSE exam.

Keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation, the board has decided to distribute the physical marksheets for the exams at a much later date. For the time-being students will only be able to access their results online and download a copy for future references.
The HPBOSE results, last year, were announced on April 29. Atharv Thakur topped the 2019 board exams with 98.71 percent. Overall 60.79 percent of candidates passed the exams that year with girls performing better than boys. 64.33 percent of girls passed the exam while 57.48 percent of boys passed.
In order to pass the Std 10 board exam, candidates should have scored a minimum of 45 percent marks in Science and 33 percent aggregated in Humanities and Commerce. An additional percent relaxation is being offered to students from the SC/ST background for admission in the Science group.
Around 1.5 lakh students from Himachal Pradesh appeared for the HPBOSE exams held between February 22 and March 19. The results to the exams were expected to be announced earlier, but the lockdown made it difficult for evaluations to be carried out. Also, as per a notification issued by the board earlier, grace marks will be awarded to students in the Urdu and Sanskrit exams.
According to the official time table, the Himachal Pradesh board exams were effectively unaffected by the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting lockdown. The exams started on February 22 and ended on March 19, well before the lockdown came into force on March 24.
