One person was injured after a section of the wall, about 30 to 35 feet long, collapsed in Delhi's Greater Kailash-1 area, NDTV quoted an official as saying. The was reportedly jointly maintained by Tata Telecom and the Forest Department.
A video that was shared by the news agency Press Trust of India showed the damage that the vehicles surrounding the collapsed wall endured after debris from the wall fell on them. Media reports said that as many as five vehicles were damaged in the incident.
After getting the call from the incident site, police personnel were promptly dispatched to the spot and the police officers found that one driver, Manoj, suffered minor injuries. He was taken to AIIMS for treatment, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Ankit Chauhan said.
NDTV reported that the authorities have assessed the situation after the wall collapsed and have confirmed that the conditions are currently under control. The residents who are near the accident site have been advised to avoid standing near the wall and have been urged to not park their vehicles there as it has been deemed unsafe and old.
