HT Media has reported an operationally weak July-September quarter earnings. Its topline growth was aided by digital busines growth. Digital vertical saw 36 percent growth to Rs 34 crore in Q2 from Rs 25 crore year-on-year.

During the quarter, its radio business revenue jumped 20 percent to Rs 29.3 crore. EBIT slipped to Rs 3.8 crore against Rs 6.6 crore (Y-o-Y)due to radio operational expenses increase. It has spent Rs 470 crore on radio auction and migration.
Employee expenses also increased 24 percent to Rs 143.6 crore versus Rs 116.02 crore (Y-o-Y). Margins were weak despite soft raw material costswhich fell 5 percent to Rs 179 crore against Rs 189 crore.
