CBDT extends corporate income tax filing deadline to November 15 for AY 2024-25

A notification issued under Section 119 of the Income-tax Act has officially moved the deadline for assessees referenced in clause (a) of Explanation 2 to sub-section (1) of Section 139 to November 15, 2024.

This extension is expected to provide corporations with additional time to ensure accurate and complete filing of their returns.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) announced on Saturday an extension of the deadline for corporations to file their income tax returns for the Assessment Year (AY) 2024-25. Corporates now have until November 15, 2024, to submit their income tax returns, an extension from the previous deadline of October 31, 2024.

The Ministry of Finance confirmed that this extension applies to taxpayers covered under sub-Section (1) of Section 139 of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
