Chattisgarh Assembly Elections Live Updates: Chattisgarh CM faces allegations by ED

On the ED allegation against Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi says, "We have turned to the Election Commission...to put an immediate halt to the activity of the BJP's election department, the ED that they will enter wherever they want, go to any state they want, and give any statement they want." We condemn this and call on the European Commission to take urgent and decisive action."

"...One thing is clear that the manner in which Mata Bijasan finished Raktbeej, similarly, people have made up their mind to politically finish 'sattabeej' in Rajasthan on 3rd December...In the entire Rajasthan, there is a wave of transformation and BJP government is going to be formed here on 3rd December with an absolute majority. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "I came to Madhya Pradesh a few days ago. I also implemented the 'Ladli Behna' in Assam after hearing about it from here... This means that Madhya Pradesh is teaching the states of the country... This time I have learnt about a scheme 'Ladli Lakshmi' scheme. I will implement that also very soon..."

Why is the Prime Minister giving protection? Why isn't anybody arrested? In the first phase (elections) we will win 18-19 seats."

- Voting in the first phase of Assembly Polls in Chhattisgarh was held across 20 constituencies.
- Among these, 12 are located in the Naxalite-infested Bastar division.
- A provisional turnout of 71.48 percent was reported amid Naxalite-triggered violence in the state, according to officials.

- Naxalites in Chhattisgarh carried out an IED blast amid the first phase of assembly elections on November 7.
- Eight incidents of encounters between Naxalites and security forces were reported in the state.
- Four security personnel have been reportedly injured in an encounter in Sukma district.
- A CoBRA commando sustained injuries in an IED blast in the same district.

- The Home Minister further taking a dig at Chief Minister Gehlot, said, "They told me that Gehlot gets angry on seeing the colour red," in the context of the "red diary".
- As per the allegation of sacked minister Rajendra Gudha, the "red diary" contains details of the illegal financial transactions related to CM Gehlot.
- "Chief Minister Gehlot should have resigned over the "red diary" instead of taking action against his minister," Shah further added.

- Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a campaign rally in Rajasthan's Makrana on November 7, said that before asking for votes, the chief minister should disclose to the people of the state what is written in the "red diary".
- Shah also added that he had met some communists at the airport and asked about their Rajasthan plans, and they refused to visit the state because the colour of their flag is red.

- CM Gehlot held a road show on November 7 after Congress commenced the 'Guarantee Yatra' to make people aware about its seven pre-poll promises.
- The 'Guarantee Yatra' kicked off from the Moti Dungari Ganesh temple via the Panchwati circle, Pink Square Mall, Ghatgate, Sanganeri gate, Govind Devji temple, and Badi Chaupad before concluding at Chhoti Chaupad.
- Party candidates from different constituencies took part in the yatra which will also be taken ahead in other districts as well.

- CM Gehlot also elaborated on the seven significant pre-poll promises made to the people of Rajasthan.
- "When the Congress government is formed after the November 25 elections, guarantee camps will be organised. One thousand guarantee camps across Rajasthan will be set up, intending to reach out to two crore individuals if the party forms the government", noted the incumbent CM.

- Further taking a dig at the contending party BJP, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that BJP is misusing the power of the ED to harass the opposition parties ahead of the Assembly elections.
- "They are harassing even the children, there is no case, no FIRs. The public will understand and answer soon," he also added.
