For her fourth appearance at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari made a breathtaking statement in a Rahul Mishra custom couture ensemble showcasing intricate Indian craftsmanship and handwork. Attending the premiere of the movie Fuori at the 78th edition of the festival, the actress stepped onto the red carpet at the Palais des Festivals in a stunning gown that depicted global Indian glam inspired by mythical design aesthetic.

Amidst the theatrical couture and overt extravagance of Cannes red carpet, Hydari chose a look that defined quiet luxury with a twist of vintage glam and nailed the look in style. Her floor-length shimmering gown was sourced from Mishra’s Fall/Winter 2024 haute couture collection, originally unveiled in Paris earlier this year. Drawing inspiration from cosmic energies and the universe imagined by the Hindu god Brahma, the dress titled ‘Celestial Aura’ took over 2,600 hours to be handcrafted at the designer’s atelier.

The ombré palette of the ensemble transitioned from midnight black to glistening silver before settling into soft ivory with a remarkable gradient effect. The strapless silhouette featured a plunging neckline and corseted bodice, cinching at the waist before skimming the body in a fluid, statuesque fall.

Crafted in fine resham threads, sequins, and salli (glass bugle beads traditionally used in Indian embroidery) the gown shimmered on the red carpet making it an iconic moment for the pretty actress.

The Heeramandi actress’s look was elevated with an exquisite diamond necklace by luxury jewellery brand Chopard. Her statement necklace adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds arranged in floral motifs added an element of classic grandeur. A matching oval-cut diamond ring added a final touch of old-school glam to the overall look. She wore the classic black heels from Christian Louboutin with her gorgeous outfit to complete the look.
