Neha Bhasin, who has long been in the limelight, has seen several highs and lows in the industry. While she has fought many professional battles and triumphed with her talent, her personal journey with weight struggles hasn’t been smooth either.
The singer recently opened up about being called names like ‘bhains’ and ‘wrestler’ after inappropriate paparazzi videos of her surfaced online. She revealed that her weight gain last year was due to antidepressants and mental health issues she was struggling with at the time.
When Neha Bhasin Was Fat-Shamed for Weighing 50 Kg
In Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, Neha revealed that during the early days of her journey with the band Viva, she was put on fat burners. She shared, “I started my career in 2002, and the next year, I was put on fat burners. Back then, I didn’t know the side effects. I was just 20 years old.”

The singer revealed that she was harassed by a man from the channel’s team, to which she raised an objection. She recounted how he circled her stomach in the music video and said, “Look, you are so fat, and because of you, we can’t release the video.”
She continued, “I was just 50 kgs at that time, and I remember I went home and, in anger, consumed more than half a bottle of fat burners. That was my way of trying to commit suicide. For two days, I was throwing up. The band did not know what had happened.”

Neha’s Gym Routine and Diet
While the singer has made peace with what people say, she continues to look after herself in the best way possible. She shared that she never skips a workout and puts on her gym gear right after showering, adding that she exercises not for a great body but for a healthy mind.
She also mentioned that Keto diet has been a game-changer for her, helping her manage brain and body inflammation, as well as anxiety and panic attacks.
