Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been married for more than 18 years and share a daughter, Aaradhya. Their relationship has been through the public eye, celebrated for its glamour yet occasionally shadowed by relentless speculation. The two first met years ago, worked in eight films together, and eventually fell in love.

Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya with a fake ring, and she said yes, a story he still fondly shares. Yet, since late 2023, divorce rumors have swirled across social media. Though those whispers have calmed down, old controversies continue to resurface, especially around Aishwarya’s past relationships.

One such moment came when Abhishek Bachchan found himself facing a tricky question on Koffee With Karan. Host Karan Johar asked what Abhishek would do if he were stuck in an elevator with Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi, two men who had once been tied to Aishwarya in a much-publicized love triangle. Without missing a beat, Abhishek gave a witty but biting reply:
“I’ve got a really nasty one, and this I’m just trying to be witty. Vivek, please don’t mind. Um, Vivek meet Salman, Salman eat Vivek.”

The remark brought laughter and awkward silence in equal measure. Actress Preity Zinta, also on the couch, jumped in with her own version: “Vivek meet Salman, Salman beat Vivek.” The banter highlighted the uncomfortable history but also showed Abhishek’s ability to deflect with humor.

This was not the only time Abhishek confronted the pressures of public comparisons and scrutiny. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, he candidly said:
“It’s never going to get easy. But after 25 years of being asked the same question, I have become immune to it. If you are comparing me to my father, you are comparing me to the best. If you are comparing me to the best, somewhere I believe that maybe I am worthy of being considered among these great names. I look at it like that.”
