Supermodel Gigi Model has recently revealed that she almost starred as Rapunzel in the live-action remake of the animated film Tangled. The actress recalled that she auditioned for the role but didn’t get the role.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Gigi asked cover co-star Kendall Jenner, “What do we do in this job anymore that scares us?” reflecting on her audition process.
The supermodel suggested, “I was really proud of my scene. The singing… I knew they were going to go with a real singer, but I’ll show you my audition scene later.”
In 2024, the reports suggested that Disney is making a live-action Tangled movie. Filmmaker Michael Gracey was also reportedly in talks to direct the film from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. However, the casting of the film was never announced.
However, Variety reported that the remake of Tangled was put on an indefinite hold after the live-action Snow White movie failed at the box office. The remake featured Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. The film had high expectations but failed to cross $90 million at the US box office. The film was also entangled in the controversies.
Meanwhile, Gigi is not the only one who auditioned for the party. My Oxford Year actor Corey Mylchreest had previously revealed that he had auditioned for the Tangled live-action for the role of Flynn Rider.

Disney’s live-action reimagining of its 2010 animated film was speculated to focus on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale heroine.
The 2010 fantasy adventure, Tangled, revolves around Rapunzel, an innocent, young girl, who is locked up by her overly protective mother. Her wish to escape into the world outside finally comes true when she meets the good-hearted thief, Flynn.
