Bastian Bandra, one of Mumbai’s most celebrated fine dine destinations, is closing its doors on Thursday (September 4) , marking the end of a defining era for the city’s culinary and nightlife landscape. The flagship property, co-owned by Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty and spearheaded by Bastian Hospitality under the leadership of Founder & CEO Ranjit Bindra, has long been synonymous with indulgent dining, high-profile gatherings, and a lively social scene.

As the iconic Bandra space bids adieu, the Bastian brand is preparing to open two fresh chapters in its evolving journey.

From mid-October, the Bandra outlet will be reborn as Ammakai, a specialty South Indian restaurant.

The name translates to “the mother’s hand,” a phrase chosen to capture comfort, authenticity, and warmth. Ammakai promises to celebrate South India’s diverse culinary heritage, featuring regional recipes, traditional flavours, and an uncompromising commitment to quality.

Simultaneously, Bastian is expanding its footprint with an exciting new venture in Juhu. The Bastian Beach Club aims to bring the brand’s signature mix of indulgence, energy, and celebration to Mumbai’s shoreline.
